Our barn conversion has been a personal project over the last 3 years. Newly available in 2025, and completely transformed from a former goat and sheep barn! It’s now been converted to offer beautiful light filled bedrooms, a stunning kitchen which is the heart of the home, a master ensuite, a family shower room and a large living room. You are in the town of Chinon amongst the vineyards- we supply the beautiful accommodation & even the bikes- you make the memories.

We will try and explain everything I can about the barn so that you can picture it. 

After parking your car directly in front of the property, you walk into the kitchen. The kitchen has french farmhouse original tiles, and is fully equipped with toaster, microwave, tassimo coffee machine, smeg double oven and smeg fridge freezer… basically everything you’ll need for your stay. We think of this room as the hub of the home. It has a ceramic pellet burner, so even in the coldest months it’s still a lovely room to spend your family time. There are double doors that open to your outside garden space.

From the kitchen you step down three steps into the lounge. From here you turn left into the utility room with a slimline washing machine, and through the utility room into the downstairs family shower room with shower cubicle, sink and WC. Back into the lounge which is approximately 28m2 with tiled flooring, woodburner, beautifully furnished, with  books and games plus smart TV. You head upstairs from the lounge via the wooden staircase, and at the top of the stairs turn right into the master bedroom. 

The master bedroom has a double sleigh bed. The ensuite full bathroom has a walk in shower, toilet and sink. 

At the top of the stairs on the left is the twin bedroom, with original stone wall and original timber features. This room has a more industrial feel, whereas the master is more classically furnished.

Both bedrooms have electric opening velux windows and electrically operated window blackout blinds.

We live on the edge of the town of Chinon. We love it because we have the best of both worlds- the forest and vineyards on our doorstep and the town nearby when required. The medieval centre of Chinon is 1.9 miles or 3 kilometres away (30-35 minute walk). The nearest supermarket (Super U) is 0.9 miles or 1.4 kilometres away (15 minute walk). Our local boulangerie is 0.5 miles or 0.8 kilometres from us. (10 minute walk). We have an amazing pizza restaurant and takeaway, La Bonne Note, just 300 metres away. Chinon is connected to the Loire a Velo cycling route, and the cycling trails around here are flat, beautiful and very safe. Within 0.3 miles or 0.5 kilometres, you can take a dedicated cycle trail all the way to chateau du Rivau and beyond to the town of Richelieu approximately 19kms away. If you like gentle cycling, the area is an amazing place to explore on 2 wheels. We even have our own small cycling tourism business so just ask any questions. And for walkers, from the property you can head directly up into the forest and explore many routes and trails.

Parking is available for 1 vehicle directly outside the property and another vehicle  in front/ behind.

Due to the nature of the property, I would say it would be difficult for less mobile individuals or wheelchair users to comfortably use. Apologies

We accept bookings of 2 nights or more, apart from during July and August when bookings are 5 nights minimum. You'll love it though so you may as well stay for longer at all times of the year anyway! 

During June and September, our gite is 150 euros per night for a 2 night stay. 120 euros per night for a 3 night stay and 800 euros for a 7 night stay.

During July and August prices are 145 euros per night with a minimum 5 night stay (1015 euros per week). Basically, ridiculously good value!!
