This bike tour starts in the city of Tours due to its excellent transport links, and finishes in the town of Saumur. The tour is not an ‘off the shelf biking holidays' product for a variety of reasons. We don’t use the same stops and same hotels for every tour, because we don’t want you feeling like you’re riding with a number of people (apart from those in your group!), and seeing the same groups day after day over breakfast! The concept of the tour is a tour that works around you and your group, staying in excellent hotels, with excellent service, excellent restaurant dining and fabulous bike riding through the most beautiful French countryside, whilst having the chance to enjoy some of the amazing wine produced in this part of the world!
We look after everything we can to ensure these biking holidays are the most memorable that they can be, in supplying great bikes, the helmets and taking care of your luggage when you’re riding between town to town on your bike tour. We can even arrange taxi transfers and train journeys for the start and end of your holiday where required. All we need from you is to bring some cycling shorts, the suncream, a lightweight rain coat and a desire to explore and enjoy this region!
According to your arrival time in Tours, a welcome briefing provided on the evening of your arrival or the following morning of your arrival in Tours, explaining the bikes, getting you set up and introducing the bike tour to you as well as the route and how you will be following it. This is a self-guided tour with local support from people on the ground.
Included is the following; 6 nights accommodation in minimum 4* hotels on a bed and breakfast basis. Fine dining every evening including restaurants mentioned in the Michelin Guide. Bikes, helmets and all cycling material including panniers, plus a GPS system for navigation from hotel to hotel. Wine tasting experiences. Support from the Vineyard et Velo team throughout your stay. Luggage transfers.
